Starting in Bangkok you will experience the bustling side streets and market scenes with stops at some of the country’s most revered temples and holy sites. You then head north, stopping in Kanchanaburi to visit the areas infamous with World War II. Here you also explore the thick verdant jungles and natural scenery, which is even more fun as you engage in memorable outdoor adventures and activities such as biking, rafting and elephant trekking.

  • Day 1 - Bangkok Arrival

    Place Transport: Airplane->Car
    Meals:
    Welcome to Bangkok. Meet your guide and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, transfer to the Flower Market to see the myriad of exotic orchids and plants. There is an opportunity to shop at the adjacent local night market along the Memorial Bridge overlooking the Chao Phraya River. Conclude the day at a rooftop bar overlooking the Rattanakosin skyline.

    Day 2 - Bangkok

    Place Transport: Boat->Car
    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch
    Take a long tail boat ride to the Grand Palace, embracing the grandeur of the buildings and throne halls. Continue to the Amulet Market and meet a fortune teller. After lunch, visit Wat Pho, home to the giant Reclining Buddha. Receive some massage training at a school in the temple grounds before receiving a soothing body treatment yourself.

    Day 3 - Bangkok

    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch
    Head to Samyan Market for a Thai fresh market experience and learn about the ingredients used in Thai cooking. Next, head to Nanglern Food Market, which was one of the most important markets in inner Bangkok. A short ride takes you to a local restaurant for an authentic meal. In the afternoon, bike through the historical section of the city, passing religious monuments, Chinatown and markets. Board a boat across the Chao Phraya and meander along the river walkways, visiting markets and villages.

    Day 4 - Bangkok - Tha Kha - Kanchanaburi

    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
    Drive south to Samut Songkram, first stopping at a unique market on railway tracks. Visit Tha Kha floating market and enjoy a paddleboat journey through the canals, enjoying coconut sugar syrup with a local family and visiting Rama II Park. Continue the drive to Kanchanaburi and visit the area’s World War II sites as well as Pak Preak community filled with shophouses. Take the long tail boat to the hotel.

    Day 5 - Kanchanaburi

    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
    Depart for Elephant World, a sanctuary for homeless elephants. Get to know the mahouts, their animals and the relationship between them before enjoying a variety of activities with both man and gentle beast. Next, enjoy a canoeing trip along the River Kwai followed by a light bike ride though the forest, passing schools, temples and villages.

    Day 6 - Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya

    Leave Kanchanburi by boat to Thailand’s former capital, Ayutthaya. Stop at bang Pa In Summer Palace and Wat Niwet Thammapravat temple along the way. In the afternoon, explore the ancient city by bike, experiencing the highlights of the historical park. The scenery is even better in the evening as the temples are illuminated.

    Day 7 - Ayutthaya - Bangkok - Chiang Mai

    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch
    Transfer to Bangkok’s international airport for the flight north to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, board a local truck to the hill tribe village of Doi Pui. After a tour of the community, continue the drive to the mountain temple of Wat Doi Suthep, one of the holiest in Northern Thailand. Receive a private blessing, witness the evening monk chant and enjoy the view of Chiang Mai.

    Day 8 - Chiang Mai

    Meals: Breakfast - Lunch
    Depart for the recently discovered lost city of Wiang Kum Kam. See the temple ruins as you cycle the area. Continue to the Three Kings monument and the Chiang Mai Arts & Culture Hall. After lunch, head towards the Mae Ping river banks and Warorot market for a stroll amongst the stalls. Continue by rickshaw to Tape Road before setting out on foot to explore ancient Chiang Mai.

    Day 9 - Chiang Mai Depature

    Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
