8h00: pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi. We will drive our own way through villages, valleys of Ha Tay and Hoa Binh province. Lunch break at Hoa Binh town, visit Hoa Binh Hydro power- the biggest one in Viet Nam. Then continue the road up hills to Kun pass that offering spectacular views over the valleys and mountains. Arrive in Lac village of the Thai people in Mai Chau. Check in a still house then take a short walk around. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Halong Bay, is highlight of any Vietnam Tours and presents a quite extraordinary vista of hundreds of limestone islands (over 1600 at last count) that rise from the jade green waters of the bay like the scales of some great submerged dragon. Indeed, Halong means ‘where the dragon descends to the sea’ and local legends tells of a time when this rugged landscape was created by the pounding tail of a mighty dragon as he ran from the mountains into the glittering waters of the bay below.
